Halloween Fun

The Sprouts Co-op Preschool had a wonderful Halloween party hosted by Jon, Kate and Isabel. All the kids dressed up. Thanks to Sandra's sewing skills (Stu's mom) Jonah had a punk rock outfit that matched his buddy Stu's. He was so thrilled that in most pictures his feet weren't even touching the ground (and that was before candy).

Mae was a sweet little lion and enjoyed the comfy warm costume. Hallie was a faerie and I couldn't wear my costume as it was just too scary for the kids. I went as a zombie (though some of the students at Athey Creek thought I was a hobo).


The only problem I see with Halloween is that now Jonah thinks that when we go on walks around the neighborhood he can just knock on a door, say trick or treat and receive candy. If only life worked that way.

So you go through this amazing, surreal, frightening, primal, other-worldly experience. Years Later....Moving Abroad

A few years have passed since the last entry, but we felt it was time to revive the blog, as we are now on an epic adventure in Surabaya, Indonesia. Yes, crazy, I know, but here's some background: Matthew and Julie, friends of our for many years, have been teaching in international schools for over 15 years. Matthew has been an admin for about the last 5 of those and finally landed at a school that he thought would be a good fit for Michael. 3 Things That Are Hard To Do While Wearing Your Baby

1. Putting on your shoes. This should definitely be done before putting the baby in the carrier because it is incredibly difficult to be able to reach around the baby, lift your leg high enough, grab hold of the shoe, fit the shoe on the foot and tie it tight enough for a long walk. 2. Drinking beer while feeding a bottle to the baby. It's incredbily hard to get the rhythm. When raising your own glass you will invariably end up tipping the baby's bottle back too. And when you return the glass to it's full and upright position on the table, you will be detaching the bottle nipple from his firm mouth grip with the other hand. However, the big difference is you can choose to pick the beer back up and begin anew. The baby just juts out the lower lip and gets ready to explode if his needs aren't met in 3....2....1.... 3.
